Today Sunday 1st November 2009 we concluded a three days missions campaign led by a team of students from Glad Tidings Bible College. Andrew Kaluma (team leader) Ojok Thomas, Bernard Tumusiime, Ssekandi, Opio Clement, Charles Maole, Murunga Julious, Johnson Mugumya, Lilian Twinamasiko, Livingston Enyenu, Juliet Kisakye, Denis Ayebazibwe, Kakooza James, Kabicci James and Arach Vicky.
They arrived at Bwaise Pentecostal Church on Friday evening and led in a powerful overnight prayer that takes place every last Friday of the month here at Bwaise Pentecostal Church. On Saturday morning they joined hands with BPC congregation and went out into the community and shared the good news. 66 people gave their lives to Christ and today 8 people came to Church. Pastor Peter called upon the congregation to do immediate follow-up hopefully the number of new believers joining the church will increase. Pastor Adrew Kaluma the team leader and Pastor Livingstone promised to come back again to help in training church members to keep the fire of missions burning in the church.  We thank the administration of Glad Tidings Bible College for sending their students to our community to bring glad tidings.

We had homogeneous groups meet in different locations for a full hour before the main service began. The marrieds, the youth, the children, the widows and singles all had their special classes and the testimonies that came out of those classes was overwhelming. One widow came to me after the service with allot of excitement that she had heard from the LORD speaking directly to her life situation. “I am not the same” she said “I feel the presence of God now” It was too real that her face was shining than ever before. Thank you to all who are praying for us and please continue to pray.  The forces of witchcraft and Islam in our community are too high. Thank God He has given us momentum to press on. Thank you.

Cell B3Bb4 Presenting a dance on Cell Summit

We held our first Cell summit at BPC on 5th November 2008. It was a joy to see cell members sing and dance to encourage other church members to join home cells. In thier songs and drama they portrayed the benefits of being a cell member and at the end few people were able to find cells which meet in their localities and joined them. The cell leaders were glad to receive new members. Our church vision is to become a cell based community church and our mission is to disciple our community through demonstrating practical Christianity.

The Church:
BWAISE Pentecostal Church is now seeing a good future. Sarah one of the volunteers in Life CARE school said “Now we see where we are going” recalling BWAISE Pentecostal Church straggles in the past years and our progress since CCUMC came into our life the story is steadily changing for the better. Our worship services have greatly improved due to the PowerPoint projector and the keyboard that was donated to our church by 2008 mission team.

The School:
Life CARE nursery and primary school has got a new look in the community because of the new class rooms that are being built. Our local leader when he visited our school he said, “Thank you for the development you are bringing to our community” he added that “education is key to development” In the parents meeting which took place on 5th October 2008 I read the names of the sponsored children to the parents and all of them were too excited to learn that some of the children had received sponsors.

“There is hope” Tendo one of the parents said as she encouraged other parents whose children had not yet got sponsors. Two parents came to me asking for something they can do at school to earn money to pay school fees for their children. One parent insisted that she can sweep the school compound so that her child can come to school. She started on Monday 6th October 2008 and she is happy because her child is in school.

Life CARE food fund:

Since the feeding program started, children stopped missing school. Daily attendance is now 100% and class performance is good. Children no longer fall sick so much as it used to be. Sometimes children could fall sick at school and were forced to go back to receive medical attention. Now it is a different story; all children are healthy and are growing well. Thank you Dick & Alice and all those who support Life CARE food fund.

We started a children’s program every Saturday where children are enriched spiritually. Pray for committed facilitators and other facilitations for this program.

Care for One (CFO)
This is our church initiative to reach people infected and affected by HIV/AIDS epidemic in the community. It is under the Life Care Health Project. It is run by a committee of 4 volunteers who have availed themselves to be an answer to this problem that has continued to devastate our community. We recently introduced what we call “The Samaritan Box”, where we encourage our church members to put a coin every Sunday to support affected families.  We put it at the entrance of our church every Sunday morning and the response is catching up slowly. We thank Ann Maria for the AIDS workshop she held in BPC during the 2008 mission trip. Through CFO, we intend to support infected/affected families in terms of food, clothing, education and any kind of support that the Lord puts in our hand. So far we have four persons living with HIV/AIDS and we try to help them with the little we collect from the “Samaritan Box fund”
